DEFIBRILLATORS FOR LLANYMYNECH & PANT
The community of Llanymynech and Pant is currently fund raising to provide three defibrillator machines at sites in the village - The Cross Guns, Pant, Llanymynech Village Hall and Pant Memorial Hall. The machines will cost £1,459 + vat each and they will be fully automatic and housed in cabinets accessible to the public.
Defibrillators are devices that deliver an electric shock to a person who has suffered a cardiac arrest. Cardiac arrest occurs when a person's heart stops beating and these machines can save a person's life, There is a machine on the Welsh side of the border at The Dolphin in Llanymynech, but none exist in Pant or near to the King George V playing field at Llanymynech. So this is a very worthwhile community project.
Fund raising has already started, applications are being made for grants, and fund raising events are planned, such as pub quizzes, travel slide show and a fund raising walk of the Heritage Area. Local businesses are being asked for support as well. The total needed will be £ 4,377, so any donations will be welcome. Donations can be made to Llanymynech and Pant Parish Council who are holding the Fund.
